SoundMind is looking for a Head of Engineering to help accelerate the Company’s growth ASAP. The role is fully remote and you are expected to run your own schedule as needed. You’ll be leading and building new features for our iOS app, with a growing and global user base. You’re expected to work hands-on, be passionate, and be self-driven to succeed in this role. This role is perfect for quick learners and independent thinkers who thrive in a quick-paced environment and like to work with diligent individuals. 

Some of the things you’ll be doing: 

• Direct, lead and hire in-house development team and contracted development partners 
• Work daily with CEO/COO to define and execute on overall product roadmap and strategy 
• As needed, actively ship production code to the SoundMind iOS App 
• Oversee technology budget to allocate resources appropriately 
• Have the opportunity to work on new and exciting features in the health tech space!

To succeed here, you’ll need: 

• Experience. You’ve built and shipped complex software on the frontend and backend for mobile applications. Preferred experience with Swift, Firestone, AWS, Typescript, and MongoDB. 
• Radical Thinking. You should bring your own ideas to the table and be able to think holistically in ways that will benefit users of the mental health community. 
• Speed. You code and debug quickly to produce production-quality code with efficient turnarounds. 
• Focus. We’re a high-growth startup with a busy, remote team. You know how and when to engage or be heads down. 
• Collaboration. You are a good communicator and excited to take part in our mission.

Preferred Qualifications 

• BA/BS and/or MA/MS  in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Understanding and experience of full-stack iOS Development (ideally: Swift, React, Next.js) and is able to work on bug fixes on our product
• History of product management and/or startup experience, growing products from the foundation
• Experience leading technical initiatives and managing server infrastructure
• Ability to grow engineering teams that deliver quality products on a predictable timeline 
• Thorough understanding and execution of user security needs
